Men’s Antique Black Habutae Silk Montsuki Haori (5 Kamon) — Takanoha (Hawk Feathers) + Tea Ceremony Lining
A striking formal Japanese men’s haori in deep black habutae silk, finished with five family crests (go-mon) featuring the Takanoha motif (hawk feathers). Inside, the haori reveals a refined decorative lining depicting tea ceremony utensils—a subtle, cultured “hidden artwork” that only appears when the garment is opened. This is the kind of piece collectors love: understated authority on the outside, quiet storytelling within.

Why This Haori Feels So “High-Class”
Habutae silk is prized for its clean drape and smooth hand-feel—minimal texture, maximum elegance. Combined with a deep black ground, it creates a sharp, formal silhouette that reads immediately as traditional Japanese menswear at its most refined. The finishing touch is the five kamon placement, a powerful indicator of formality and heritage.
Kamon Symbolism — Takanoha (Hawk Feathers)
The Takanoha crest (hawk feathers) evokes precision, vigilance, and disciplined strength—qualities historically admired in samurai culture. In formal wear, this motif reads as confident and timeless rather than flashy. With five crests, the haori presents as a true montsuki statement piece: dignified, ceremonial, and unmistakably traditional.
The Hidden Art Inside — Tea Ceremony Utensils
The interior lining features tea ceremony tools—a classic expression of cultivated taste in Japanese clothing. This kind of motif is meant to be discovered quietly, not displayed loudly: it reflects harmony, restraint, and refined hospitality. When worn, the lining occasionally peeks through with movement, revealing a private layer of culture and story.
How to Wear It
- Traditional: Over a kimono with hakama for formal events, ceremonies, or cultural gatherings.
- Modern: Over a black turtleneck, white shirt, or minimalist outfit for an elevated “Japanese formal jacket” look.
- Collector styling: Display on a haori hanger to showcase the five kamon and reveal the lining as art.

Care & Storage (Silk Habutae)
- Store in a breathable garment bag away from sunlight and humidity.
- Avoid spraying perfume directly onto silk.
- For cleaning, use a specialist familiar with Japanese silk garments (avoid standard machine washing).
- Air gently after wear; do not heat-iron directly (use a protective cloth if needed).
Special offer: $234 USD (was $294). If you want a formal, collectible men’s montsuki haori with strong symbolism and an exceptional interior story, this is a rare opportunity.

The Samue suit is very beautiful crafted - the fabric is soft and very pleasant to wear. A high quality clothing that exudes a genuine Japanese feeling attention to detail. . The tabi shoes clearly high quality. I am very happy.

heads raised to the heavens, i am not worthy of the energy without thy consent.
Comfortable and visually stunning
Just the right size.
As this belt was a replacement for my original black belt from 2003, I am very pleased to say that it has the same feel and quality of my previous belt. I teach karate 5 days a week, so I need a belt that stands the test of time. I am positive that this is it!
Confortable et parfsit pour ma taille de pied. C’est super a porter a l’interieur :)
An amazing Gi. More like a samurai robe. Where the tk-10 is stone this is water, not flimsy but heavy but flows like a powerful river. Amazing quality.
I ordered this product as a replacement for a cheap Chinese samue that lasted roughly 3 weeks. This one is on another level. I am 182 cm and 83 kg and the 2L fits me nicely. Although based on the leg length a L would have also worked. The cloth has a nice thickness and texture to it. International shipping was fast. Would definitely recommend...it would also be really nice if this shop would have an European reseller, preferably in Germany ;)
A beautiful, high-quality product — it's a pity about the customs charges for Italy.
I ordered a new Shureido belt on a Thursday and it arrived in Australia the following Monday. That is fantastic service and I would be happy to purchase from the Bujindo store again.
Very very happy. Super quality and productsp
Easy communication, fast delivery and top notch quality of material. I can't be happier. Thank you so much
