The Waraji (草鞋) are traditional Japanese sandals handcrafted from 100% natural Igusa rice straw. Lightweight, breathable, and flexible, these sandals have been worn for centuries by ninjas, samurai, monks, and mountain ascetics (Yamabushi) in Japan. This pair of shoes is really very comfortable, and the craftsmanship is excellent. It's exactly what I expected. The only problem is that I ordered a pair half a centimeter larger than my usual size, and even so, they're so tight that I can't even wear socks (tabis)!
I loved them, very beautiful and perfect fit if you follow the measure instructions. Looking forward for some outdoors bujinkan training in the spirng!
