Antique Japanese Kimono for Men Black Silk Montsuki with Mitsukashiwa Crests – Made in Japan
Origin: Handmade in Japan
Material: 100% black silk
Lining: Deep brown silk (night-shade tone)
Crests: Adorned with five Mitsukashiwa (oak leaf) family crests:
- 2 on the chest
- 2 on the sleeves
- 1 on the back of the neck
Description: This rare antique Montsuki kimono is a traditional Japanese formal wear, typically worn by samurai under their armor. Its elegant design and historical symbolism make it a unique collector’s piece. No longer produced in Japan, authentic silk Montsuki like this are increasingly rare.
Use: Ideal for traditional martial arts (Iaido, Kenjutsu, Battojutsu), reenactments, or cultural ceremonies. Can be worn over a striped umanori hakama with a black silk Kaku Obi.
Condition: Very good vintage condition (please check photos)
Period: Heisei Era (1989–)

I ordered this product as a replacement for a cheap Chinese samue that lasted roughly 3 weeks. This one is on another level. I am 182 cm and 83 kg and the 2L fits me nicely. Although based on the leg length a L would have also worked. The cloth has a nice thickness and texture to it. International shipping was fast. Would definitely recommend...it would also be really nice if this shop would have an European reseller, preferably in Germany ;)
