Limited-time sale: 49 USD 171 USD
Authentic Japanese men’s black silk haori (羽織) in formal Montsuki style, adorned with five Dakimyōga family crests (抱き茗荷) and a rare calligraphed inner lining bearing the auspicious kanji “Kotobuki” (寿). A refined ceremonial garment from Japan, offered as a unique collector’s piece.
A Formal Montsuki Haori with Deep Cultural Meaning
This antique Montsuki haori is crafted from black silk habutae, a noble and fluid fabric historically reserved for formal samurai attire and high-ranking ceremonial wear. The presence of five kamon signifies the highest level of formality in traditional Japanese men’s clothing.
The inner lining is decorated with refined Japanese calligraphy featuring the kanji 「寿 – Kotobuki」, a powerful auspicious symbol traditionally associated with:
- Longevity and a fulfilled life
- Prosperity and good fortune
- Harmony, celebration, and auspicious beginnings
The Dakimyōga Kamon (抱き茗荷) – Symbolism & Heritage
The Dakimyōga kamon depicts two intertwined myōga (Japanese ginger buds). This elegant crest was historically used by samurai families, court officials, and refined households, and is deeply rooted in Japanese symbolism.
- Myōga (茗荷) is associated with protection, humility, and spiritual awareness
- The embracing composition (dakımi) symbolizes harmony, unity, and balance
- Often linked to families valuing discretion, wisdom, and loyalty
- In Buddhist symbolism, myōga also represents clarity of mind and insight
Because of its refined meaning, the Dakimyōga kamon was commonly worn during formal ceremonies and important life events, reflecting moral integrity and cultivated taste.

Super cozy!
out est parfait. Merci
Comfortable and visually stunning
Just the right size.
As this belt was a replacement for my original black belt from 2003, I am very pleased to say that it has the same feel and quality of my previous belt. I teach karate 5 days a week, so I need a belt that stands the test of time. I am positive that this is it!
Confortable et parfsit pour ma taille de pied. C’est super a porter a l’interieur :)
An amazing Gi. More like a samurai robe. Where the tk-10 is stone this is water, not flimsy but heavy but flows like a powerful river. Amazing quality.
I ordered this product as a replacement for a cheap Chinese samue that lasted roughly 3 weeks. This one is on another level. I am 182 cm and 83 kg and the 2L fits me nicely. Although based on the leg length a L would have also worked. The cloth has a nice thickness and texture to it. International shipping was fast. Would definitely recommend...it would also be really nice if this shop would have an European reseller, preferably in Germany ;)
A beautiful, high-quality product — it's a pity about the customs charges for Italy.
I ordered a new Shureido belt on a Thursday and it arrived in Australia the following Monday. That is fantastic service and I would be happy to purchase from the Bujindo store again.
Very very happy. Super quality and productsp
Easy communication, fast delivery and top notch quality of material. I can't be happier. Thank you so much
